Japanese metalcore band Crystal Lake are set to release their newest record, “The Weight of Sound” via Century Media Records. The quintet has long been a prominent name in the international metalcore scene. Drawing influences from both metalcore and hardcore, their sound fuses the intensity of both genres into a uniquely heavy and infectious style, especially powerful during their electrifying live performances. While the band has been touring intensively, the first piece of their newest record, “BlüdGod” (feat, Taylor Barber), was revealed back in May 2024.

With features from Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage), David Simonich (Signs of the Swarm), Taylor Barber (Seven Hours after Violet), Myke Terry (Fire from the Gods, Volumes), and Karl Schubach (Misery Signals), the record shines through its diversity while staying true to the core sound of Crystal Lake’s music. Vocalist John, who joined the band in 2023 after Ryo Kinoshita’s departure, carries the heaviness of the record as well as the vulnerability and aggression expressed by its lyrics:” When you dance in the fire with me; Seems like destruction is the way out.” The album is their first full length record since signing with Century Media Records back in 2024.

The record includes 11 tracks and was mixed and mastered by Jeff Dune (Knocked Loose, Make Them Suffer, Currents). “The Weight of Sound” by Crystal Lake is available as a Ltd. CD Digipak, Forest Green LP, and digital album.
